Being British, who doesn’t love a spot of afternoon tea every now and then? With a number of restaurants offering a broad variety of festive themed treats, we just had to share a few of our favourites.
So if you’re a sucker for sweet things and enjoy dining out then look no further as we’ve complied you a list of the top Christmas afternoon teas to die for.
Dalloway Terrace
Just when we thought dining at Dalloway Terrace couldn’t get any better following a gorgeous floral filled terrace throughout the summer, winter at Dalloway Terrace arrives. The famous terrace has been transformed into what can only be described as a Narnia themed wonderland.
The menu is created exclusively by Afternoon Tea of the Year Finalist, Chris Dodd. If you’re looking for somewhere to soak up a great atmosphere (whilst staying warm thanks to their fluffy blankets) then Dalloway Terrace is the perfect option.
The Ritz
As it’s the festive season there’s even more of a reason to go extra fancy and allow yourself and others to indulge in some luxury. The Ritz, offering a gorgeous afternoon tea set in The Palm Court, is this year decorated in an enchanting Edwardian themed winter wonderland.
If you’re seeking a special experience or looking to treat those all important people in your life, then this choice of afternoon tea will not disappoint.
Biscuiteers
Biscuiteers specialises in hand iced biscuits and their Christmas afternoon tea looks pretty special too. It offers a slight twist on traditional afternoon tea, providing a selection of the Christmas Biscuiteers iconic biscuits and seasonal treats including salted caramel brownie and mini frangipan mince pies.
If you’re into novelty and top quality biscuits then you'll love spending the afternoon here. Alternatively, if you're not London based, don't forget that Biscuiteers also deliver, making them ideal for those last minute Christmas presents.
One Aldwych
This Charlie & The Chocolate Factory inspired afternoon tea at One Aldwych is sure to take you on a trip down memory lane, right back to one of your favourite childhood stories. This dining experience is truly unique, quirky and definitely one to be enjoyed over the festive season.
Some of the mouth-watering delicacies on offer include gingerbread and white chocolate cake pops, hand spun candy floss and decadent golden eggs with a cheesecake filling. Count us in!
The Savoy
Indulge in a lavish and festive afternoon tea at one of London’s most iconic hotels, situated by the River Thames. The afternoon tea is served in The Thames Foyer which boasts a stunning glass dome and nearby live music from the winter garden gazebo creates the perfect atmosphere to relax, indulge and enjoy with others.
The seasonal menu has something for everyone and features sweet treats such as the salted caramel cremeux and hazelnut macaroon. If you lack a sweet tooth then savoury bites include a selection of finger sandwiches such as roast turkey and smoked salmon.
