Dopamine Dressing Guide with The Style Idealist

Author Editor - 2 minute read
Dopamine dressing has been having a huge moment this year – we’re thrilled to say that this feel-good trend is staying firmly in our sartorial vocabulary for autumn winter 2023. In a world of minimalist style, the simple concept of colour-blocking, saturated hues and playing with colour helps boost your mood.
Dopamine is the ‘happy hormone’; the way our bodies feel happiness and positivity. Dopamine dressing is simply dressing in a way that makes you feel good, whether it's playing with bold colour combinations or adding a fun injection of print to bring joy to your outfit.

Looking to add a bit of dopamine to your autumn winter wardrobe? You're in the right place. Stylist, writer and digital content creator, Karina Marriot of The Style Idealist shares her ultimate guide to dopamine dressing with her favourite pieces from our new collection.

Wear the rainbow

An easy way to wear a completely colourful look is by picking that one special party piece which includes a spectrum of hues. So nothing says 'Dopamine Dressing' more than our Saskia Eydie Ruched Midaxi Dress. Designed with a bold multi-coloured abstract print and playful sheer finish, it's the perfect mood-boosting outfit, especially for those rainy autumn days. To style, take Karina's lead and pair with '70s inspired metallic block heels and simple jewellery to let the dress do all the talking.

All that glitters

It wouldn't be dopamine dressing season without a bit of sparkle and sequins put into the mix. We're dragging the dopamine dressing trend onto the dancefloor this year with our Paula Lurex Stripe Top and matching trousers. Adorned with glamorous glittering pinstripes, these contemporary pieces are perfect for making a sartorial statement. To style, take inspiration from Karina and wear the pieces together and accessorize with a belt to give the illusion that it's a jumpsuit. Don't forget metallic heels for an added touch of retro glamour.

Pink crush

We're still in our pretty pink era this autumn and there's no stopping us. Pink is bold, oh-so feminine and powerful, and bound to give you that dopamine kick you need during the darker autumn nights. Introducing our Tash Textured Top and Trouser. Power suiting

If you want to take tailoring to the next level, get a suit in a trending vibrant red shade. The power of the red colour palette requires no explanation - bringing a joyful effect to your wardrobe. Go bold with all over red with our tailored Harry Suit.
