In Focus: Our International Women's Day Celebration Round-up

Author Eve Staniland - 3 minute read

What a week we had celebrating International Women's Day. From our Good Girls Eat Dinner evening at the AllBright club to our Bamby Collective panel talk at our Duke Street store, celebrating female friendships; it was a week of inspirational events.

As part of our Community Connection initiatives and to celebrate International Women’s Day this year, we’ve partnered with the feminist organisation Young Women’s Trust who are working to achieve economic justice for young women. Throughout the week, our celebratory events and activity all supported the Young Women's Trust, with all ticket proceeds going to the charity to help their ongoing work in supporting young women.

French Connection x Good Girls Eat Dinner

During our week of celebrations, we nodded to International Women's Day at our French Connection x Good Girls Eat Dinner evening, at the fabulous AllBright Club in Mayfair. What better way to spend the eve of International Women's Day than spending it surrounded by amazing women.

It was a truly inspirational evening, where we served up some incredible speakers between each course of the meal, including Karoline Gross, Jo Wallace, Nishma Patel Robb, Bianca Foley, Chloe Pierre and Lisa Smosarski, all of whom shared their stories, experiences and what 'Are We Nearly There Yet?' meant to them. We touched upon important subjects such a equality vs. equity, gender pay gap and discrimination.

What is Good Girls Eat Dinner?

It’s the most interesting dinner party you'll ever go to. Good Girls Eat Dinner has one simple mission: to serve up inspirational female role models from across the creative industries. And to do it in a setting that feels inclusive (and not remotely like a conference). Four to five inspirational women from a range of creative backgrounds share their experiences and advice between courses.

French Connection x Bamby Collective

During our week of celebrations, we also joined forces with the Bamby Collective, an all-female community bringing young women together, to host an inspirational evening celebrating International Women’s Day with founder Ambar Driscoll and friends.

During the evening, Ambar hosted a inspiring panel talk with fashion content creator, Kerry Walker, and Grace Bollins, a member of the Young Women’s Trust Advisory Panel. They chatted about all things female friendships, tips for making new friends in your 20s & 30s, the importance of International Women’s Day and the role fashion plays in our lives.

Thank you to everyone who joined, drank, listened, met new friends (and ate sweet treats) with us and the Bamby Collective - it was a fun evening with great stories, great advice and great company!
