Spotlight On: Stripes

Author Emily Pywell - 2 minute read

Stripes never really go out of style, but this season they feel refreshed. From striped dresses to everyday tops and relaxed tailoring, they bring a sense of structure that still feels easy to wear.

Monochrome still holds its own, but stripes are loosening up - softer in places, bolder in others, and a little less predictable overall. The result is a stripe trend that feels more wearable across everything, from casual pieces to occasion-ready dresses.

CLASSIC BLACK AND WHITE STRIPES

Our Lia Seersucker Striped Co-ord keeps things easy with a subtle texture, while the Windsor Crochet Striped Co-ord leans further into the relaxed chic balance.

Same palette, just a softer take on it.

PINSTRIPES

Pinstripes have stepped out of strictly workwear territory. They still feel polished, just without the meeting attached.

Our Vinnie Pinstripe Waistcoat and Wide Leg Trousers bring structure without feeling too formal, while the Vinnie Pinstripe Mini Shirt Dress keeps things more relaxed. It’s tailoring, but with a slightly easier attitude.

SOFTER SIDE

Not every stripe needs to feel graphic. Lighter tones and softer shapes make striped tops easier to wear - and easier to repeat.

Our Adeline Striped Gathered Top keeps things understated in cream and green, while the Aliyana Jersey Striped Ruffled Sleeves T-Shirt adds just enough detail to lift an everyday look. These are the pieces that don’t try too hard, and don’t need to.

COLOURED STRIPES

This is where stripes stop behaving. Moving beyond monochrome brings a different kind of energy - less classic, more expressive.

Our Charleen Crochet Striped Mini Dress introduces warmer tones with texture, while the Theo Multi Stripe Knitted Dress leans fully into colour. These striped dresses shift the mood instantly, without losing the ease that makes stripes work in the first place.

STRIPED OCCASIONWEAR

Stripes have made their way into occasionwear - and it works. It comes down to shape, with longer silhouettes and cleaner lines doing most of the work.

Our Clarisa Striped Halterneck Maxi Dress shows exactly how striped dresses can feel more elevated. Turns out, stripes clean up well.

HOW TO WEAR STRIPES NOW

There isn’t one way to wear stripes right now - and that’s where it gets interesting.

Monochrome striped outfits still anchor a wardrobe with very little effort. Softer tones make striped tops feel more relaxed day to day. And if you’re leaning into the trend, colourful striped dresses or co-ordinated pieces bring a slightly bolder edge.

It’s less about rules, more about where stripes sit in your wardrobe - subtle, structured, or somewhere in between.

WHY STRIPES ARE TRENDING

Part of the reason stripes come back around so consistently is their versatility. They can feel sharp or relaxed, minimal or statement, depending on the direction you take.

This season’s striped outfits prove that range - from striped shirts and tailored pinstripes to softer tops and occasion-ready dresses. Same print, different direction - and still one of the easiest ways to look like you’ve made more effort than you have.

A new season, a new line-up.
