This season, we've launched our 'This is how we party' campaign with some familiar faces. We're taking inspiration from those who know best to share how they're celebrating the party season (in style) with French Connection.
We caught up with fashion influencer, Vanessa Rose Blair to talk all things Christmas traditions, her festive plans, and of course, what she's wearing, plus she shares her top 3 styling tips for the up coming party season. This is how we party...
How will you be celebrating the party season this year?
I will be having a drink with the girls, and we've booked a day of mulled wine and Christmas markets al together with our partners too!
With Christmas/party social plans back on this year, how will you be making the most of it this year?
I think seeing family and friends, and properly integrating again! Last year of course we were limited to one household, which even though was lovely - I cannot wait to see my extended loved ones too!
Do you have any Christmas Eve/Day traditions?
Not yet. As I've grown up I've tried different things (pub, parties, or chilled ones in) so it does change every year! All I know that doesn't change is a pint of Guinness and a mince pie.
What are your favourite places in Brighton/London to soak up the party/Christmas atmosphere?
Getting lost in the lanes and exploring the little shops and pubs it so good. It has the best buzzing atmosphere anyway, especially this time of year. We love ice-skating at the pavilion, and think we will try to do the Burning of the Clocks parade this year also! It marks the shortest day of the year celebrating reflection and thought, and everyone lets of lanterns into the sky and finishes with a big bonfire on the beach!
From party games to festive cocktails, what would be on your ultimate party hosting checklist?
Has to be a baileys, and after eights! Perhaps a few card games, and throwing on some cheesy Christmas music. Maybe a bit of Michael Bublé?
What are you planning on wearing for Christmas Day?
I love getting dressed up and cooking Christmas dinner with mum. Then after we've all eaten, and I've had 3 helpings of roast potatoes; the comfy Christmas jumper and pyjamas have to come out!
What are your top 3 styling tips for the party season?
-
Don't be afraid of sequins and a bit of sparkle!
-
Definitely go all out this year. I feel like after the year we've had, it would be rude not to!
-
(And mostly for me) Grab a pair of comfortable shoes to change in to! I think being home so much, I've personally lost touch with high heels.
If you’d have to choose only one piece of clothing for a party, what would it be?
A sequin skirt. I feel like depending on the Christmas occasion, you could dress is down with a jumper and trainers, or dress it up with a bodysuit and heels.
Staying in or going out, what are your plans for New Year's Eve?
I haven't planned anything yet, but I'm down for going out! I feel like Christmas I always prioritise family time, but new year's I love to celebrate.
