What To Wear To An Office Christmas Party: 10 Outfit Ideas for 2024

Author Editor - 6 minute read

We don’t know about you, but we look forward to our work’s Christmas party every year. After a year of targets and deadlines, there’s nothing quite like letting your hair down with your colleagues and ditching the workwear for partywear. After RSVP’ing to our annual celebrations, our mind began to wonder what to wear to an office Christmas party in 2024 – and we thought, who better to ask than our colleagues themselves? If you’re seeking inspiration for your work party wardrobe, then Team FC are here to help…

Ellie L (E-com Trading Manager):

Carey Satin Blazer + Carey Satin Trousers

“You can wear them together or as separates, seeing me through both parties to Christmas dinner with the family. Easy outfit combos that I won’t get bored of.”

Women’s suiting is stepping out of the workplace and into the party spirit this season. From the deep emerald green colourway - forecast to be one of the best colours for a Christmas party outfit this year - to the satin finish for a luxurious feel worthy of celebration, this co-ord transforms women’s tailoring. We look forward to seeing Ellie dance the night away in this party co-ord, and love that she’s thinking of switching it up as separates for future wears.

Jodie (Mid-Weight Digital Designer):

Sequin Mesh Mini Dress

“She is the moment, the main character, the star at the top of the tree. No need for accessories, but lets face it – I will be going all out with statement earrings, shoes and bag - maybe with a pop of red as a nod to the festive season.”

No Christmas is complete without a sequin party dressDresses don’t come much more luxe than the golden sparkle of our Sequin Mesh Mini Dress, with a structured silhouette turned feminine with décolletage cut outs. Metallics are a must-have this season, and as Jodie points out, can both be worn minimalist or with accessories for all-out glamour - from matching glitz jewellery to a contrasting coloured bag. We suspect Jodie also has her eye on our PU Mini Soft Handbag.

Kiran (Admin Assistant):

Fenix Satin Bow Long Sleeve Mini Dress + Grace Zebra Belted Coat

“Because you can never go wrong with a LBD! You can wear the dress with cute sheer tights and add a fun coat on top to make a statement”

A black dress is a wardrobe hero for every occasion. This LBD remains classy with long sleeves, perfect for the winter, whilst velveteen bow details down the side offers on-trend feminine touches in a Christmas-favourite fabric. This mini party dress effortlessly balances chic and playful, making it a perfect work Christmas party dress. Kiran’s already thinking ahead to the party commute, and our Grace Zebra Belted Coat is ideal women’s outerwear for transitioning from the cold outdoors to the dancefloor.

Marta (Senior Digital Marketing Manager):

Amy Sequin Blazer + Amy Sequin Midi Skirt

“This year, I might finally start wearing sequins! I find this blazer to be very elegant and feminine, and at the same time practical and pretty much timeless. I’d either go full sequin and pair it with the matching skirt, or with black trousers.

Marta is another co-ord connoisseur, turned sequin convert. We’ve upped the ante for party season suiting this year, taking traditional tailored silhouettes and reinventing them with head-to-toe sequins. Matching sets are becoming more and more popular, with the versatility to be worn together or as separates for endless styling opportunities. We’d simply pair with hoop earrings and heels to complete this office party outfit.

Ellie A (CRM Manager):

Polka Dot Candice Satin Dress

"I can't resist a polka dot and I love the details such as the micro pleats on the sleeve and the bodice piping, these make the dress seem extra special."

Ellie’s never one to shy away from patterns, so it’s no surprise that she’s opted for a printed dress. Satin dresses are always a hit during the festive period, and our Polka Dot Candice Satin Dress is the perfect example with its timeless polka dots in unfaltering monochromes, complimented by flattering details. This midi dress is a work Christmas party outfit that’ll never go out of style.

Sadie (SEO Executive):

Structured Satin Bandeau Mini Dress

“I'm going for the Structured Satin Bandeau Mini Dress - I love the simple elegance of this! I'd pair with sheer tights, heels, a statement necklace and a big fluffy coat.”

Speaking of satin Christmas dresses, step forward this minimalist mini. This mini party dress sets a glamorous base for your outfit, leaving it up to you how to accessorise – whether you raid the jewellery box, opt for smokey eyes or red lips, and not forgetting the coat to see you through your party commute. We’re already envisioning Sadie’s post-party Instagram post – in-front of the tree, drink in hand, putting her best foot forward in this little cream dress.

Lucy (Junior Digital Designer):

Carey Velvet Bow Straps Satin Mini Dress

“My pick is the lovely Carey Velvet Bow Straps Satin Mini Dress! Styled with festive red translucent tights and chic silver kitten heels, this look brings holiday magic to life. The statement bow details make you feel like the ultimate gift—perfect for a season of celebration!

Struggling to choose between a velvet Christmas dress or a satin Christmas dress? This little black dress is your saviour, mixing the best festive fabrics together. This minimalist frock is ideal for accessorising with, and Lucy plans on going bold with red and metallic touches. The velvet bow straps not only channel old-school Hollywood glamour, but also nod to the season. This black party dress was destined to be worn with statement earrings, and our Large Cross Body Bag will match Lucy’s shoes too!

Joy (Assistant Online Content Manager):

Elena Sequin Bow Back Mini Dress

“I’ll be wearing this dress to this year’s work party. We can’t get enough of burgundy this season, and nothing says Christmas quite like sequins and velvet!”

Ahead of the trends, Joy’s chosen our Elena Sequin Bow Back Mini Dress for both its colour of the season and festive fabric trim. This long sleeved dress dances in rich burgundy sequins, whilst a pretty velvet bow back detailing makes it a compliment cue-er from every angle. Gold jewellery will beautifully complement this dress, from gleaming earrings to a gold ring

Becky (Digital Marketing Co-ordinator):

Cece Lurex Skort

"I’ll be wearing our Cece Lurex Skort. It’s glam enough for formal occasions, but I could also wear it throughout party season at more casual events too with simple styling like an oversized tee and sneakers.”

This skort is the ultimate choice for a work Christmas party outfit, seamlessly blending style with practicality. Its chic metallic design adds just the  right amount of festive sparkle to your look, with an asymmetric front providing a touch of modern elegance The skort’s built-in shorts ensure all-night comfort and practical coverage on the dancefloor to allow Becky to dance in confidence well into the early hours.

Emily (Copywriter):

Elodie Sequin Mini SkirtMavis Argyle Tinsel Long Sleeve Cardigan

“Nothing says Christmas party outfit like sparkle, and the mixed size sequins of our Elodie Sequin Mini Skirt are designed to catch the light. Another seasonal necessity is, of course, the Christmas jumper, so I’ll be layering up with another golden touch.”

One of the wise men brought gold, so why can’t us stylish ladies wear it for the occasion? Emily’s going all out, from our luxe sequin mini skirt to the tinsel decoration of our Mavis Argyle Tinsel Long Sleeve Cardigan. We can guarantee that this skirt will rival the disco ball, and a Christmas knit is appreciated every year. The Midas touch needn’t stop at just your Christmas party wardrobe, as adding gold jewellery can also lavishly enhance and complete the ensemble.
