How To: Dress For A Winter Wedding

Author Editor - 2 minute read

Dressing for a wedding in the summer months is one thing, but attempting to look stylish whilst avoiding frostbite in the winter is a totally different kettle of fish.

That said, we’re not about to dig out the big shearling jackets and ruin the effortless wedding guest style that we were going for, so we’re just going to have to up our sartorial game.

Trade Out The Dress

Hang up the dress for the winter season if you really want to embrace those winter wedding guests’ moments. Opt for something more practical, yet still incredibly stylish, in the form of a jumpsuit.

When paired with heels, the jumpsuit is as endlessly classic as the LBD – just more winter friendly.

If you’re not a fan of wearing black to a wedding, switch out the dark tones for an autumnal purple.

Winter Florals Are Allowed

Hey, if it’s good enough for Halle Berry, it’s definitely good enough to fulfil the requirements of your winter wedding RSVP. Its lightweight fabric makes it an investment piece – perfect for the colder months when worn with a blazer and heels, but also ideal come the summer days with bare legs and court shoes.

We love pieces which work harder than we do. Our Elsie floral dress does just does.

Sequins ARE A Girls Best Friend

Shine brighter than the disco ball on the dancefloor and opt for something sparklier than the Christmas tree – just be careful not to upstage the bride.

Sound up your street? Our sequin dress is the one for you.

Slip Dresses Should Definitely Be Worn In The Winter

Worn by itself or with a lace layer underneath, the slip dress is a wardrobe classic. The bold floral print makes it wedding appropriate, whilst its simple shape allows for endless styling opportunities – regardless of the weather.

It’s All In The Textures

Velvet dresses have one purpose – fulfilling the needs of your winter wardrobe, making them ideal for that upcoming wedding. Velvet doesn’t have to be overwhelming or dull, with added lace panels and a pop of colour, it could take your wardrobe to new heights.

Summer Dress, In The Winter? Ground-breaking.

We know, we know, when the temperatures drop, all you want to do is wrap up as much as possible and make sure you don’t feel the freeze. However, there’s nothing that says you can’t opt for something a little more summery on a sunny winters day.

Just throw some faux fur over the top and go fourth and conquer.
